Ingredients

1 cup chickpeas/garbanzo beans (kabuli Chana) soaked at least for 4-6 hours
2 tbsp dehydrated potato flakes or 1 big potato boiled and mashed
2 medium onions chopped fine
2-3 green chilies slit
3-4 minced garlic
1/2″ minced ginger
1 tbsp ginger-garlic paste
2 bay leaves
1″ cinnamon
3 cloves
1/2 tsp black peppercorns
1 black cardamom
1 star anise
1 tsp shahjeera
Dahi of Hing (asafoedita)
2 tsp red chili powder
1 tsp turmeric powder
1 tsp coriander-cumin powder
1 tsp Punjabi garam masala
1 tsp meat masala
2-3 tsp lemon juice
Salt to taste
Oil
Water

Method

Heat oil in pressure cooker. Once it’s heated, add all the whole spices as well as hing. Add the green chilies. Sauté. Add minced ginger and garlic. Sauté.
